Cycle Skills and an Introduction to Road Riding
(National Standard Level One)


Suitable for:
Children, novice cyclists and riders wishing to gain the control skills required prior to riding on the road.
Suitable for children, families, adults and those wishing to develop riding confidence. The emphasis is on informality and cycle control exercises.

Content:
Clothing, cycle fit, exercises in cycle control, stop, start, braking, gears, etc.
Basic introduction to road riding.
This course is equivalent to National Standard Level One.

For road safety skills for both children and adults, the core National Standards Course is recommended (details), either as an alternative or as a follow up.

Group Size:
Any group size from 2 up to 10.

Course duration:
The course is usually held over one morning or afternoon.
It can be arranged over two shorter sessions if required.

Locations:
Various or to request, mainly in a traffic-free area.
